We are hiring an LPN for our growing team!  The LPN position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, team-oriented,  environment helping individuals overcome substance abuse addiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take vitals 
  • Administer medication to clients as directed 
  • Charting for insurance purposes 
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward residents, staff and volunteers 
  • Handle crisis situations in a calm supportive manner 
  • Complete drug screening 
  • Create a safe and healthy environment for clients 
  • Comply with random employee drug screening 
  • Ensure Universal Precautions of the center 
  • Schedule all appointments with physicians and mental health providers 
  • Log medications and maintain an accurate medication logbook 
  • On-call for residential center 
  • Coordinate refills and new prescriptions with the staff physician 
  • Inventory medications weekly (medication count) 
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with company, state, federal and HIPAA rules and  regulations 
  • Participate in staff and state regulatory training as required 
  • Availability to work some evening, overnight and/or weekend shifts 
  • Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics
  • The Registered LPN with Addiction Recovery Care, LLC/ Odyssey, Inc.’s privacy policies,  procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general  principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider.

Key Experience and Education Needed:

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • LPN coursework completion
  • Valid LPN License  
  • Substance abuse experience preferred.

Other Qualifications to be Considered:

  • Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and recovery driven service system
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose. 
  • Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate  action at each stage 
  • Knowledge of community health resources that support life improvement in physical,  emotional, mental and spiritual health, economic security, employment, positive social and  family interdependence and positive cultural identity 
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment  of alcoholism and drug addiction 
  • Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes: Alcohol and addictive drugs and their  physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual impact on the individual and their family. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and stay on schedule 
  • Ability to enforce program requirements 
  • Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and take appropriate action, when necessary. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle crisis situations in a calm and supportive manner 
  • Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create  a safe and healthy relationship with clients served 
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time 
  • Ability to read detailed health records 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. 
  • Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office
